Research projects is one of two grant types in Formas’ Annual open call 2023. In Formas’ annual open call, researchers formulate their own research questions. Within the areas of Formas’ responsibility: Environment, Agricultural Sciences and Spatial Planning, the call aims to fund research of the highest scientific quality, which clearly advances the state-of-the art to address societal challenges and contributes to long-term sustainable development.
Inter- and transdisciplinary research questions are encouraged. The research can be either basic research or needs-driven, applied research.
To apply for a grant for a research project, the main applicant must have obtained a doctoral degree (by the closing date of the call at the latest). The grant may only be administered by a Swedish university, university college or public agency that meets Formas’ criteria for administrating organisations.
Research projects that fall outside the Annual open call’s areas of responsibility, i.e. environment, agricultural sciences and spatial or physical planning, will be rejected.
