The purpose of this call is to fund Proof of Concept (PoC) projects to bridge the gap between research and utilisation/commercialisation of research results from earlier Formas-funded research projects.
The call is aimed at researchers who wish to implement a PoC project. As a researcher, you must be active at a university, research institute or authority with research assignments. The PoC project must be based on research results from projects that are being or have been funded by Formas between 2010 and 2017.
Formas uses a wide interpretation of the PoC concept. Funding in this call can be used to verify the usefulness and appropriateness of a new method, product or process that has been developed from an earlier research project, and to implement activities that pave the way for utilisation/commercialisation. Thus, the funding will cover activities at the very early stage of turning research outputs into a commercial or socially valuable proposition, i.e. the initial steps of precompetitive development.
Who can apply? The main applicant must be a researcher with a doctoral degree at university, research institute or authority with research assignments. Main applicant or participating actors must have received funding from Formas between 2010 and 2017. The PoC project must relate to research results within the scope of the funding granted previously.
Focus area for the PoC project? To bridge the gap between research and utilization of previously Formas funded research results (between 2010 and 2017).
How much can be applied for? SEK 200 000 – 1 500 000
How long can the project be? Between 6 and 12 months
How big is the budget framework for the call? SEK 15 million
