The Scientific Council is Formas' decision-making body, responsible for deciding how the agency's research funds are allocated.
Formas' Scientific Council consists of thirteen members. Seven members are elected by an electoral community of researchers from Swedish universities and university colleagues. The government appoints the chairman and another five members.
