Formas will, in December, open a call for funding in the area of a circular, non-toxic, economy.
The aim of the call is to promote an integrated development of the circular economy and a non-toxic environment side by side by enabling research collaborations between the two areas.
The call is directed towards goal conflicts between the national environmental quality objective A Non-toxic Environment and the vision for a circular economy: The lower the allowed amounts of harmful substances, the harder it is to achieve circular material flows and the more material is phased out through combustion or landfill.
The call is directed to researchers within all faculties and disciplines whose work relates to the circular economy and/or the national environmental quality objective A Non-toxic Environment.
In order to comply with the aim of the call, each project team must have at least one researcher with documented experience in relevant work in the area of circular economy and at least one researcher with documented experience in relevant work in the area of a non-toxic environment. The two areas must be treated in the project as equally important.
Projects can be up to two years with a maximum funding of 2 million SEK per year, i.e. a total budget of maximum 4 million SEK. Formas has allocated in total 40 million SEK to the call.
Complete call text will be available when the call opens for applications.
