WHAT CAN YOU APPLY FOR?

Projects in which researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders jointly design and implement activities that help translate research findings into new applications, working methods, products, services, networks, or processes.

WHO CAN APPLY?

The project must be carried out in collaboration between at least one research institution and at least one project partner from another sector, such as the business sector, public sector, or civil society. At least one participating researcher from the research institution must hold a doctoral degree.

HOW MUCH CAN YOU APPLY FOR?

The project duration is 24 months (2 years). You can apply for a maximum grant of SEK 4 million.

In Formas’ call, Action! From research to impact 2026, which opens in November, you can apply for funding to utilise research-based knowledge, innovations, and solutions. The goal is for research to have impact on society.

In this call, researchers, practioners, and stakeholders can apply for funding to jointly design and carry out activities that help translate research results into new applications, working methods, products, services, networks, or processes.

Projects must be based on concrete needs within a clearly defined target group and build on research of high scientific quality within Formas’ areas of responsibility: the environment, africultural sciences, or spatial development. Applications must be submitted in collaboration between at least one research institution and at least one partner from, for example, the business sector, public sector, or civil society. At least one participating researcher from the research institution must hold a doctoral degree.
