Water is a vital resource for sustainable societies, but it is under pressure from growing demand, climate change, water scarcity, and declining water quality. At the same time, there is often a lack of economic signals that reflect water’s true value. Water Wise Societies is now funding projects that develop new and more effective pricing and valuation models.

To meet the growing demands on water resources, models are needed that create incentives for smarter use, increased circulation, and long-term investments. The purpose of this call for proposals is for stakeholders to collaborate on developing concepts for innovative pricing and value models that strengthen the mission of “Sustainable Water for All.” The models should contribute to more sustainable water use and management in Sweden.

The call for proposals is being conducted within the Water Wise Societies program, which is part of Impact Innovation—an initiative in which the Swedish Energy Agency, Formas, and Vinnova bring together stakeholders to solve our major societal challenges through innovation and collaboration.
