Research and innovation projects in transnational consortia on how forests and the use of forests can best contribute to all SDGs.

The call welcomes applicants from academia, industry and other organisations and stakeholders.

HOW MUCH CAN YOU APPLY FOR?

The combined budget of the three Swedish funders is 25 million SEK, expected to cover 6-8 projects. Max 300 000 EUR can be applied for, or 500 000 EUR as a consortium coordinator.

Formas, Vinnova and the Swedish Energy Agency together announce a call for funding of ca 25 million SEK for Swedish participation in a new call within the European collaboration ERA-Net ForestValue. In the call 15 research funding organisations from 10 countries participate, with a combined budget of ca 11,5 million EUR.

The call aims to support international collaboration to produce new knowledge on how forests, the use of forests and forest raw material can best contribute to society and to reach the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Projects are welcome within three themes:

  1. Sustainable and multifunctional use and management of forests, to maximize their contribution to all SDGs.
  2. Building with wood from various perspectives
  3. Analysis of benefits, synergies and trade-offs in the use of forest biomass

Applicants are encouraged to use interdisciplinary research approaches and holistic perspectives encompassing all relevant aspects of a subject.
