NordForsk has launched a call for proposals to fund research and innovation projects in the field of sustainable aquaculture together with Formas, AVS Research fund for fisheries, Iceland, Technology Development Fund, Iceland, Innovation Fund Denmark, The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland, The Research Council of Norway, The Estonian Research Council, ETAg och The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia.

Purpose and scope
The overarching aim of the programme is to generate knowledge and solutions for sustainable land-based and marine salmonid aquaculture in the Nordic countries.
Utlysningen omfattar följande fyra temaområden. The areas of priority for the call are:
- Aquaculture microbiome systems
- Aquaculture feeding systems
- Biotechnological advances
- Aquaculture "big data" monitoring and control systems.
A project consortium must include nationally eligible partners from at least three co-funding countries, of which at least two must be Nordic co-funding countries. The duration of the project must be minimum three years and maximum four years. The maximum amount of funding available per project is NOK 10 million.
Applicants
The main applicant and co-applicants must have doctoral degrees. Grants can be given to researchers at Swedish universities, university colleges or research institutes.
